FAPCCI Demands special package & reduced power cuts for MSME’s

FAPCCI appreciated and welcome the measures announced by Hon’ble Chief Minister on Wednesday to tide over the power crisis such as To do away with the electricity duty on captive power generation units in order to provide relief to the industry, waiver of wheeling charges on transmission cost if the industry generated power by procuring RLNG and naphtha and also on captive generation by solar and wind power plants, reimbursement of VAT on diesel used for power generation.

However they expressed dissatisfaction as no specific measures were announced for MSMEs. FAPCCI demanded minimum power cuts to MSME units and they should be reduced to one day in a week. FAPCCI feel that micro and small scale units do not get any respite from the above measures. Government should purchase additional power and supply it to small scale units as they cannot afford to have captive generation unit. Government announced Rs.200 crore special packages to MSME sector during the months of March-April and FAPCCI demands that similar kind of support should be extended till power situation improves.
