The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) is Organizing a Free Open House Discussion Session on “TDS and other Income Tax problems” with Mr. A.K. Basu, IRS, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, AP-I and other Commissioners of Income Tax and other officials on 8th January 2011 at Surana Udyog Auditorium, Federation House, FAPCCI Marg, Red Hills, Hyderabad.
The main objective of this meeting is to provide platform for common tax payers to interact with Chief Commissioner and other Commissioners of Income Tax department for airing their problems and grievances like TDS refunds status, and other practical problems arising out of implementation of the Act.
The high official team inclusive of the Chief Commissioner of Income tax will interact with the audience for redressal of and reply to the grievances of tax payers.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and FAPCCI are jointly organized “FAPCCI Marg” inauguration ceremony today evening at Federation House, Red Hills, Hyderabad. Mr. Jaffer Hussain Miraz, Deputy Mayor, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was the chief guest for the occasion. Mr. Shekhar Agarwal, President, Mr. V.S. Raju, Senior Vice President, Mr. M.V. Rajeshwara Rao, Secretary General, Mr. Suraj Prasad Agarwal, Past president, Mr. Harshchandra Prasad, Past President from FAPCCI and large number of businessmen’s are participated in the opening ceremony.
Mr. Jaffer Hussain Miraz assured to the FAPCCI in his speech that the GHMC ready to develop FAPCCI Marg in international standards. He requested to send a proposal on FAPCCI Marg development plan from FAPCCI, and he is ready to proper permissions and further development. He said that the – he is ready to take an initiation in developing FAPCCI Road and as well as further requirements from FAPCCI under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Mr. Shekhar Agarwal expressed his thanks for naming road as FAPCCI Marg and requested in his welcome address is that the good greenery road in front of FAPCCI building and proper footpaths and road to the local persons and the travelers. He also pointed out the problems of FAPCCI Marg and local common facilities such as street lights, electricity and drainage.
Mr. V.S. Raju honored the guest with Memento and offered vote of thanks.
Mr. M.V. Rajeshwara Rao welcomed the guests and expressed sincere thanks from FAPCCI.

Mr. Geoferry Conaghan, Commissioner, Victoria State, Australia was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Mr. Nik Guruprasad, Business Manager, Victoria and Mr. Shekhar Agarwal, President, Mr. V.S. Raju, Senior Vice President, Mr. M.V. Rajeshwara Rao, Secretary General, Mr. Hari Haran, Co-Chairman, International Trade & Relations Committee from FAPCCI and large number of businessmen’s are participated in the session.
Mr. Geoferry Conaghan said in his speech that the Airline country Australia and most happening state in Australia, Victoria is offering business opportunities in Information Technology, Biotechnology (Life Sciences), Pharma, Education, Food & Beverage, Services, Business Migration, Winery and Small Scale Industry to the Indian businessmen’s and companies.
In particularly Mr. Geoferry Conaghan explained the Victoria state business statistics and Business opportunities in various sectors. He explained that the Victoria state have a 25% GDP percentage in national development and 33% GDA of annual. 27 million passengers are travelling in Australian airlines and particularly Victorian state playing a vital role. Victoria is another brotherhood state for Indians and Victoria offering many facilities to the businessmen and entrepreneurs. 15 Indian IT companies are operating a key role in Australia and particularly 9 of them from Victoria. Victoria government offered citizenship and nationality to the 2 lakh Indians.
Mr. Shekhar Agarwal said in his welcome address that the Victoria accounts for only 3% of Australia’s land mass, yet is responsible for 24% of Australia’s economic activity. Its economy is bigger than that of Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Victoria is one of the strongest and most resilient economies in the world that enjoys AAA credit ratings from both Standard and Poor’s and Moody’s and has done consistently for ten years.
According to World Bank group releases on ‘Doing Business in South Asia’ 2007, India is the top performer in the region, and Hyderabad has the country’s most business friendly regulations. Andhra Pradesh, being ranked first in the manufacturing of bulk drugs and third in formulations in the country, accounts for 40 per cent of the total Indian bulk drug production and 50 per cent of the bulk drug exports.
In 2009, Andhra Pradesh registered an export turnover of over Rs.32,000 crore, representing an annual growth of 25%, and contributing a significant 15% to the national’s overall IT exports. The State has the highest number of approved Special Economic Zones. Hyderabad is also aggressively being promoted as a destination for meetings, conferences, exhibitions. All this combines to help the city to attract the highest number of tourists every year.
Mr. Hari Haran said that Indian companies have created more than 2,100 jobs in Victoria through investment of over $110 million. The Indian ICT industry is well represented through the presence of leading companies such as Wipro, Infosys and TCS. In 2009, there were more than 190,000 international student enrolments in Victoria, making international education our most valuable export. More than 56,000 of these students came from India.
