National Training program on “Mid Career Training Programme and Refresher Course on MSME Promotion for the Officials of DC (MSME)” is held at Ni-MSME Conference Hall, Yusufguda, Hyderabad. Mr. V.S. Raju, President, FAPCCI was the chief guest for the occasion.
Dr. Chukka Kondaiah, Director General, ni-msme, Dr. GUK Rao, Prof. NVNS Dev, Ms. Glory Swapna, Dr. N. Sri Lakshmi, were amongst the speakers.
Mr. V.S. Raju, President, FAPCCI said Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been accepted as the engine of economic growth and for promoting equitable development. MSMEs constitute over 90% of total enterprises in most of the economies and are credited with generating the highest rates of employment growth and account for a major share of industrial production and exports.
In India too, MSMEs play a pivotal role in the overall industrial economy of the country. MSMEs in India account for more than 80% of the total number of industrial enterprises and produce over 8000 value-added products. It is estimated that in terms of value, the sector accounts for 45% of the manufacturing output and 40% of the total export of the country and employs over 6 crore people. Further, in recent years the MSME sector has consistently registered higher growth rate compared to the overall industrial sector. The major advantage of the sector is its employment potential at low capital cost.
For development of entrepreneurship, the current educational institutions must embrace the culture of skills training, so that it benefits the wider sections of society and addresses the big issue of employability. Business Schools in India and both the government of India and the private sector are actively participating in increasing the number and quality of education of these management colleges. There is a need for accelerating access to technical training to address the key issue of skills development at the grass roots level while also leveraging e-learning as an effective means to provide low cost access to quality education. Towards this direction, FAPCCI has been given representations on the Institute Management Committees of Industrial Training institutes, Andhra Pradesh, with the objective of providing a platform for continuous quality improvement in training and is driven by the needs of Industries.
FAPCCI is also focusing its activities for MSMEs capacity building especially for SME growth companies in assessing their capacities in various sectors of industries and see if there are real and fundable growth opportunities and how we can help these MSMEs in strengthening their management to avail the emerging opportunities in the globalized village. It is our pleasure to promote MSMEs and take up the issues concerning the growth of MSMEs in the State. I request National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (NI-MSME) to associate with FAPCCI in realizing the great potential that exists for increasing trade, investments and strategic partnership by bonding strong linkages with industry and academic institutions for the benefit of both. This is one more step to take this process forward and we look forward to a deepening of this cooperation. Let us work together to promote the industry especially MSME in the globalized and competitive environment.
